VIDAL ASSOCIATES Consulting and Search, reference in the recruitment of top/middle management positions in France and worldwide, recruits for his client a Commodity Purchasing Manager M/W based in Germany, near Munich.

Our client is one of the leading international automotive parts manufacturers (over 100,000 employees). In a context of significant growth in one of their divisions, they are searching for a:

Commodity Purchasing Manager M/W
Based near Munich, Germany

Integrated in a competitive and dynamic team, you are responsible at worldwide level for a large purchase family (Stamping and Metal Components) with a wide purchase perimeter (1 billion euros). You are in charge of the category purchasing strategy. You support regional teams and share best practices. Your objective is to improve purchasing performances through better segmentation, the development of relations with global partners and better geographical distribution of potential suppliers. Your expertise of the market and your credibility allow you to animate and manage functionally the Commodity Managers & Buyers dedicated to the specific commodity. You negotiate the global contracts and coordinate the activities of the buyers specialized in this category. You define procedures and purchasing methods. You control the quality of raw materials and other items and the suppliers’ certification. You manage the savings and investments plans. With an important presence very close to the field through intense travelling (50% of the time), your mission is both strategic and very operational.

With a Master’s degree in Purchasing (Management of International Purchases, Strategic Management of Purchases, etc.) or engineer with a specialization in purchasing, you have a significant experience (7 years minimum) in a similar function, acquired in a demanding industrial environment (ideally automotive industry). You have a real expertise in stamping (technologies, main actors, and cost models). You speak English fluently and a third language would be appreciated. You have a good vision of competitive practices to optimize purchases at worldwide level. You are capable of both developing an overall strategy and of implementing it in a very operational way, your negotiation skills are acknowledged. You know how to be efficient in a matrix-type organization.
